Glitter Project Round-up

My post on DIY Glitter Phone Chargers received such a huge response from my fellow glitterholics that I decided this week's round up should feature other fun glitter projects. Enjoy! 

Butterfly Wall Decor

Winter is, as always, dragging on, and I thought it would be fun to bring a little spring into your lives this week. I originally made these 3D butterflies to decorate my college dorm room, but I think they’d look equally cute in a nursery, little girl’s room, or kitchen. They can even be ramped up for an office space or adult bedroom by using solid greys, blues, purples, and metallic silvers.  

Succulent Project Round-up

As anyone who has followed me on Pinterest is beginning to discover, I love succulents (which may actually be an understatement). As spring approaches, I'll hopefully be able to share three of my own succulent projects, but in the meantime, I've rounded up a collection of really fun succulent projects. Happy crafting! 

Glitter Phone Charger

In an effort to satisfy my love for glitter, this week’s tutorial will be on glitter phone chargers!  I’m in love with all things glitter, and while I know there are already several videos and blogs online, I wanted to take things one step further by incorporating a few of the currently trending patterns. In the post that follows, I’ll show you have to do chevron and ombre patterned glitter chargers, and at the end, you’ll be given the opportunity to win a Phillip Lim inspired micro usb charger made by yours truly. Valentine's Day Cards

I love the entire institution of Valentine’s Day, and while I usually give out some type of candy, I also like to have something sweetly homemade on hand for my family and friends who are avoiding sugar. Once you’ve got the process down, it’ll only take a few minutes to whip out each card, and the time spent will be well worth the results. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Embroidering Knitwear - Fox Sweater Guest Post

I have always been partial to this particular tradition, and nothing says “I love you” quite like homemade valentines.  These are fairly simple, and suitable for crafters age 10 and up.

 I have another confession: I spend way too much time on YouTube watching hair style tutorials! Over the years, I’ve noticed that the most frequent viewer comment is that they aren’t sure where to buy a bun maker. Today, I’d like to show you an extremely easy low cost tutorial that turns an old sock or pair of tights into the perfect bun-making hair accessory. Happy crafting!

Studded Gloves

      
Studs are definitely in this season, as is evidenced by Chanel’s studded clutches, Louboutin’s wide variety of studded heels, and Phillip Lim’s studded jackets.  In this post I’ve outlined a really straightforward tutorial on studded gloves. Bleached Reindeer Shirt

In celebration of the colder weather and (quickly) coming holidays, I created a cute reindeer shirt. You can switch it up by doing the silhouette of almost any animal, although some will be harder than others. Bears and penguins would be adorable, and I'm also dying to try this technique with a cute quote. 

Christmas Story Ornaments

I’ve always loved the spirit invoked by hand-made ornaments. Store bought “perfect” ornaments are just so impersonal!  These are a lot of fun to make, and are a great project for kids as well as more experienced crafters. Happy holidays everyone!

Elbow Patches

       Elbow patches are one of my all time favorite trends, primarily because they maintain a very stylish air of scholarly practicality. They are the lab coats of the English major, and there’s nothing sexier than a brilliant and exceptionally dressed woman (or man). In the following post, I’ve provided a quick low-cost tutorial that you can use for any sweater, blazer, or jacket.

Studded Sweater

Hi everyone! I love the look of studded shoulders, but I definitely don’t love the look of the price tag that comes with them. This tutorial cost me just around $25, which included a new sweater and studs – the price shoots way down if you upcycle a sweater you already have. Even better, I got to do it while watching The Vampire Diaries. Happy crafting!
